All good things must come to an end...
... people than bad.
Throughout the trip we kept records of the costs of each bus we took, each hotel we stayed at, each taxi, tuk tuk and tour. The next and final blog post regarding this trip will have a list of all these costs country by country to make it easier for other travelers to have this information handy to look things up. We hope that we have helped our fellow travelers in documenting this trip and will continue to do so with future trips! Hope everyone has enjoyed reading.

We missed the heat wave here in California by a few days so it's cooling down. Low 70s mainly, but 60s by the time we ended up north, even 50s. We stopped for fresh fruit once we got in the central valley. Then we drove through high winds, maybe some light dust blowing and some ...
A root beer kinda town
... quite work out what the place was in the end. The picture I had in my mind was so different to reality, and reality was kind of... unformed.
I have to say I failed Santa Cruz - I just didn't get it. That's not a criticism of the city - I didn't 'get' Paris on first visit either yet now I love it. And I used to dislike Dr Pepper but now I'm quite fond of its weirdness.

Missed buses and magical mystery tours!
... so I think they just did that because it was long. The round trip is 13 miles so my walk one way was about 7. The forest was lovely. The Redwood trees are beautiful. You obviously know they are tall but it does amaze you to see it in person. The size of the trunks are incredible, they have huge diameters. There were many trees which had fallen over and the stumps of them were huge, you could stand up inside them!!
