Historical Traveler Reviews Adobe Nido Bed & Breakfast Albuquerque
Adobe Nido, a comfy nest
a wonderful place to stay with the colorful authentic flare of New Mexico. An inviting and comfortable respite form the rigors of travel with a beautiful garden oasis complete with it's own aviary. The hospitality of our hosts was as warm as the desert sun. We will be returning many times I'm sure!
Nice Surprise at the Adobe Nido!
Found this cute little place on the web and were happily surprised!
Upon our arrival we drove around a bit not recognizing anything in the neighborhood as a "quaint little B&B" . I have to admit at first we were nervous. Once we knocked on the door and entered we breathed a sigh of relief... Very cute, very warm, sweet gardens, large personal jacuzzi, modern sauna and beautiful charming accommodations!
The proprietors were helpful in suggesting dining choices and we set out for dinner. The Artichoke Cafe was wonderful but pricey for the portion size, which was small.
When we returned we found a lovely birthday gift, arranged by a friend from out of state, awaiting us in our room. This was a secret and the proprietors personally attended to her every wish!
We woke to a huge delicious breakfast - strong coffee, eggs, vegies, fruit, sausage, biscuits -WOW!
Would definately recommend and return!
Perfect!
Adobe Nido is a wonderful little bed & breakfast. We stayed in their suite with my husband and his parents. The suite has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, laundry facilities and a living room. The bathroom has a whirlpool tub which was wonderful. There is also a sauna available and they provide robes for your use. We had an abundance of towels and washcloths (not just the two that you normally get at a regular hotel). It really felt like a home, not a hotel.
The owners, Sarah & Rol, are wonderful people. Rol's breakfasts were delicious. They had great insight on lots of the Albuquerque attractions and were extremely helpful for us as tourists. I would recommend Adobe Nido to anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay. We stayed for two nights but could have stayed much longer because we felt so comfortable being there.
Has real Southwest style.
We stayed at the Adobe Nido in June 2004 on vacation in Albuquerque. The innkeeper was very friendly and we liked the Southwest decor and construction. The room we stayed in had a whirlpool tub and it was good to have a fan in the bedroom to circulate the air. The only points which we might critique are:
There is no door to the bathroom, there is a portal in the adobe...some may not like this.
The TV operates on the Rabbit ears antenna, you can only get a few channels, and there is no cable TV in the room, although the host has videos you can borrow.
The room is cooled with a swamp cooler which was very effective, but the switch to turn it on and adjust the speed is outside in the hall.
Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed talking with our host in the morning.
They had extra soap, shampoo, etc. available if you need it, outside in the hall.
We would recommend the Adobe Nido highly.
Our home away from home
Truly our home away from home.
Stayed a full week each of 3 trips in '03; once in '04. Wonderful hosts; excellent cooks; charming "digs": rooms tastefully done, excellent baths and beds, lovely garden.
Most interesting hosts: engaged, involved in many civic activities, especially environmental causes.
Encyclopedic knowledge of the area.
We love Sarah and Rol!
Clearly 5 stars and wonderful people
My husband and I just got back from staying three nights at Adobe Nido. We had never been before and I decided AN would be our place based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. This is an absolutely fabulous place to stay. I can't say enough about the owners, Sarah and Rol. The day we arrived Sarah had broken her leg. She was in pain but nevertheless, a wonderful hostess. Rol cooked, cleaned, and took care of Sarah. They both always greeted you with a smile and welcome. Rol is a great cook. Big breakfast every morning. Beautiful rooms and the whole house is yours to enjoy. I accidently left my suitcase and Rol drove to the airport to give it to me! Wonderful people and beautiful B & B.
Adobe Nido bed and breakfast the best
If you want a great Bed and Breakfast the Adobe Nido is just the greatest place to stay. Breakfast is great, homey, wonderful owners, Sarah and Rol Dolk, It is conveniently located and we wil return time after time.. Try it out,, you will love it.
Restful and cozy
As soon as we got out of the car we knew we'd found the perfect place. There's a lovely woody smell about the property, and an overall placidness that can't be replicated in a photo. Our room was quiet and private. The courtyard, with its aviary, fountains, plants, Minnie the dog, and the wonderful sauna, made it feel like we were in our own home. I can't remember when I've slept so well. Sarah and Rol are relaxed, welcoming, and friendly...and they make a delicious breakfast! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.
Like staying at a good friend's home
Adobe Nido has been a great find for business trips to Albuquerque. We have a group that is in Albuquerque for a few days at a time and find the family suite perfect. It is so nice to discuss the day's events in a private living room rather than someone's hotel room or a restaurant.
Great Place for business travelers.
I travel to Albuquerque at least once a month for business. Staying in holtels gets old. Sarah and Rol make me feel at home and have helped me find great places to eat and buy books in Albuquerque. It's a great place for a vacation stay or business stay.
