Wednesday July 9
Back to Carmelita's for breakfast, second day in a row because it is that good! Our waitress even recognized us from yesterday. ... we booked it back - the trip back was shorter than going out. We realized we rode about 12 miles total (according to my iPhone app) - not as many as we thought, and we could have gone further. Next time we'll start at the Alamo and go all the way through the missions and back - yeah! But nonetheless it was a great ride! Of course I had to ask Kelly if he "knew the way to San Jose" on the way back...ok, never mind.

This was a great group of guys and gals. We had Blue Knights, BYDS riders (Be Your Damn Self) and others. Mike Dutton of the Green Beret Foundation coordinated the ride with Antonio Halliburton of the BYDS riders. We all gathered, said a prayer to stay safe and hit the road for a 30 mile ride around northeast San Antonio to Willie's Grill and Ice House.

We motored merrily out of the Rio Grande Valley and careened cautiously over the concrete all the way up to San Antonio. Actually we got stopped in a check point to see if we were citizens. We assured them that we didn't have anyone else in the coach and they let us go thru.
