    Happy New Year everyone. We didn't get to see the London fireworks for real as it was a ticketed event for the first time this year (to control numbers). After getting home it was decided to have a hotel party in the girls room. Most went out to get pizza while Keely and Ian stayed in to pack bags ready to leave 'early' the next day. The party didn't last to midnight as we all went back to our own rooms by 10. While looking out the window foe early fireworks we did see a fox. ...

The challenge for me and Debby over these next couple of days that we will stay here will be to determine our own understanding of the myths and legends surrounding this place during it's long history. Of course in approaching the grand stories we know that they are not to be taken at face value but to be opened up and considered at a deeper level. Lawrence Boldt perhaps sums it up best:

    I have seen Metallica before and wasn't convinced but I went along since everyone else was going. They started with a video that was a attack on Green Peace- men were hunting a fox, until they were shot by bears which turned out to be the band dressed up in bear outfits and the fox escaped... was actually quite well done- bet Greenpeace were ****** ...
