... thing for a few hours. I had promised Anja that we would go for a drive on her birthday so I rented a car and after a late hungover start we hit the highway. Both Lenka and I both had bear spray and armed with a fistful of loud conversation we journeyed into the forest. After a short while we reached the old coal mining pits and walked out onto an old coal mound for a beautiful view ranging from Lake Minnewanka to the left and the Bow Valley to the right.

The Best Mountain Scenery Ever!

We took a special trip to the Columbia Ice Fields and road a large ice vehicle out on the glacier.
What a trip! Some of this ice has been here for hundreds of years. Some of the little trees trying to grow up here are over 700 years old. That is amazing considering that it gets to be 50 degrees below zero up here in the winter.

... aanrader! Daarna zijn we naar het vuurwerk gaan kijken! T was mooi en derna ben ik gaan slapen, want deze ochtend, vroeg dag, werken geblazen! Maar het viel goed mee, t was nog een leuke dag.
Zo, dat was het zowat! Jullie zijn weer op de hoogte. K weet nog niet waar mijn tripje volgende week naartoe gaat…K moet nog eens kijken waar ik naartoe wil. J Hopelijk is het wel wat warmer dan de voorbije dagen…(Vandaag was wel heel goed!!)

Last Day
... headed up the road to Storm Mountain Lodge for lunch. I heard that the food was great there. It was a pricey lunch but it was very good and the lodge was so rustic and cozy. The wood floors creek beneath you and they had little bears for napkin holders. They have some animal heads on the wall.
