    Today is the last day in New York and we spent it exploring the end of Manhattan. We started off by getting the metro down to South Ferry. This is where Battery Park is and also the departure point for ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We finally had a hot dog from a New York hot dog cart, with extra ketchup and onions, yum!
    $4.50 for a double hot dog with the trimmings.

    ... and exterior were covered in scaffolding and tarpaulins. It's going to look beautiful when they finish it - it's built of a lovely creamy-white stone.     ... right back to New York and the Manhattan skyline 50+ miles away. From here we drove west along Ocean Parkway to Jones Beach State Park, a very popular beach in the summer months. It was quiet today but you could see the facilities had been built to cater for thousands of people. The beaches here were probably 300m wide from ocean to vegetation.     ... 09/14 Fuelled for the day with eggs and cereal, Vic took us the the High Line. Now this a is and old unused railway which they have made into the incredible art inspired walkway. From graphite to abstract art, so much look at on the way through.
