... a theatre designed by Andre Palladio, which had a stage with a false perspective (see attached picture). Believe it or not, the wooden floor that looks like it keeps going back, is raised five feet, but you can't tell because of the false perspective. The next thing we did was go in the Basilica Palladiana. ... from the city centre. We were in no fit state to do that.

After checking into our hotel we freshened up and put some new clothes on before heading out back to the city centre to do some site seeing. We only had one and a half days to see Verona so we had to make the most of it. We didn't want to wait for a taxi so we decided to walk back into the city. Because it was a long walk we walked in the shade and took loads of water with us.

... we were offered small pieces of pizza served on a wooden board followed by small squares of grilled Polenta and slices of salami. The pizza was good but I wasn’t fussed on the Polenta - it needed seasoning IMO. I rarely if ever eat salami but had one slice and can say it was the best I have ever had.
