    ... ride up to the monument because we had a lot more to see. Our next stop was Mt. Rushmore. Although impressive and a must see, it is just a mountain with faces carved into it. Yes, I would never crave on a mountain, but just not as awe inspiring as Crazy Horse IMHO. We again watched the movie about its creation and took several pictures.

    ... We wanted to tire them out because we were going on a little adventure at the crack of dawn. Literally.

    Our plan is to wake up at 4:45 AM to drive to Mount Rushmore at sunrise. This was suggested to us so we are going to give it a try. The kids are apprehensively on board. They were all snoozing by 930/10. We'll see what happens and that goes for all of us. Better be worth it.

    ... herd in early morning. Took a while to make our way through but well worth it. We remained for about 45 minutes watching them as they migrated. Cattle tend to be much slower but these Bison move as they eat. Hence the herd can move a mile in 20-30 minutes as we watch.

    We returned once again to Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City where we stayed for 7 days. Last year I made friends with the FamCamp Mgr, Amy. We hit it off right away and stayed in touch throughout the year. It was wonderful to see her again and catch up a little.
