Abby'S Cottages Bright

Today was the day we went & saw & stood in snow for the first time. So exciting. We set off with our own personal tour guide at 8:30am. It was a rainy/foggy drive up there. BRIGHT (19/4 - 24/4/09) Travelled along the Murray Valley Highway then The Great Alpine Way. Had a very good trip and it was a beautiful warm, sunny day. G'day Everybody, This blog describes our drive through the town of Myrtleford to our new campground called The Nug Nug Reserve on the western side of Mt Buffalo. Nach einem ausgiebigen Frühstück sind wir dann am nächsten Morgen in Bright aufgebrochen und haben uns auf den Weg in die Berge begeben. Von Bright aus fährt man ca. 1 Stunde über eine recht kurvige Strasse die Höhenkilometer hinauf zu Mount Hotham auf ca. 1700 Metern. Bisher dachte ich ja immer solche Strecken machen mir nicht viel aus, aber ich glaube nach einem Jahr auf dem Schiff und die ständige Schaukelei wurde mein Gleichgewichtsgespür wohl etwas in Beschlag ...

... in America. It is 15 hours on the aeroplane! When we get to America we stay in a hotel for the day and SLEEP! Then at midnight we get on the aeroplane to Costa Rica. Grandad will pick us up at the airport and drive us to his house up in the mountains. Granny and Uncle Dan will arrive from England on the same day. I am very excited. It will be a lot of fun.

... in den B**gen fast unbezahlbar sind, nutzen viele die Möglichkeit in Bright unt**zukommen und dann mit dem Bus in die Skigebiete zu fahren. Bright ist dah** auch touristisch ab** natürlich ist es unt** d** Woche und in d** Nebensaison doch relativ ruhig, was es etwas angenehm** macht. Nach einem wund**baren Abendessen unt** St**nenhimmel und einem Glas Wein auf dem Balkon ging es dann nach einem beeindruckenden **sten Tag auch schon ins Bett, da ja am nächsten Tag die B**ge auf dem Programm standen.

During our break back in Austalia we managed to spend a weekend with our girls in Bright, staying at Kay and Bruce Reid's house in the Buckland Valley. We were lucky with the weather as it was cold, but sunny. It was great to catch up with Kay and Bruce and find out what they have been up to lately.

... in the sunshine on the banks of the river on banana lounges, before leaving for the drive home. Stopped at Milawa Cheese Factory for lunch and some cheese tastings, bought a few different types as I couldn't make up my mind. My god, their cheese is AMAZING, has won so many awards here in Australia. Can't wait for next year, might take a few extra days off work as it really is so beautiful and relaxing around here.

Saturday 14th July - Sunday 15th July, 2007 Left Adelaide at about 10:30pm Saturday night, for the 14 or so hour drive to Mt Hotham. Left home at 9:30pm to pick up Gabby and Olly from there place at Happy Valley, then to meet yeti, woody and chode at coco's 21st... good to see chode wasn't toooo drunk. then down the road to pick up lordy, and the drive begins. Drove in chode's car with Gabby and young Olly, and chode got thrown into woody's car, maybe cos he was trashed ...

... We did a slow boat trip on the estaurine river and saw one croc and some cool plants, kingfishers and a tree snake. This stay has been quite different from the rest of our trip because of the large group we are in, but the wildlife is incredible. We are next heading to stay at Noah's beach, camping out near cape tribulation, and still in Daintree. We will update more soon and hopefeully some good pics!
