Our welcome to Belgium

For our first of many intercity trains, we had to literally run to make the train to Antwerp, arriving with about 2 minutes to spare. It seems that the entire city is filled with 2 things - shops selling chocolates, and shops selling chips (frittes) with mayonnaise. I wondered how such a simple delicacy …

... car may well still have coffee splatter all over it. Needless to say, we got out of there pretty speedily and headed for our train.

We managed to get stamps in our passports – probably the only time that will happen on this trip! We were boarded onto the train by an Italian chap who later walked passed us again with his friend saying ‘this is a nice car, very pretty girls’….and so it begins…

... why I think I didn't like it that much. I'm not a huge fan of medieval things. I also went to the fashion museum which was an interesting activity for one euro on a cold afternoon. ... We talked and laughed for a while and since it was pretty empty we became friends with the waiter. I asked him where to get good fries and he told me this soul food place down the street.
