    Getting ready for my trip! My plane leaves at 12:55 am on Thursday, which means, I have to be at the airport Wednesday night. Today I packed my bags and contacted my Rotarian friend in Guayaquil, Daniel Saab. Daniel will pick me up at the Airport (my arrival is at 10:15 pm on Thursday).

    We finished packing our 5 suitcases and 3 carry-ons at about 8 pm last night. I have got to learn how to pack light! I tried to convince my family to skip formal night, but Sarah was horrified! She tried to negotiate/ plead for at least one formal night, in the end Matt sided with Sarah and we were dressing for dinner. Dressing for dinner accounts for about 1.5 suitcases. I will mention that we took 4 suitcases on our last cruise, which was 1 day in FLL, pre-cruise and an 8 day Caribbean ...

    ... weather and see a nice view of the mountains, water, and the airport. Our last stop of the day was Potter Marsh, where we went to try and spot some wildlife. We only saw a flock of geese but they were worth the visit.

    The scenery west of Denali is beautiful - - one sharply peaked mountain after another to the south and west with many kettle lakes. They started life as a chunk of ice that broke off from a passing glacier, then remained filled with rainwater and snowmelt. it i a very calm day so the reflections are gorgeous!

    ... of 23:41pm Aug 18th the blog had 636 hits
    In total we completed 5278 miles, and our buds are still good for more trips
    We were on the road for 22 days.
    We had no flats or other technical issues.

    We have learnt a great deal out of this trip and we are planning to post a lessons learnt in a few days.

    We hope you enjoyed it a bit and had fun as we did!
