... we got to another split in the trail and were up high and in a forest, we looked at the map and decided that we should have taken the other way when the trail first split...we were correct and from that split, it was a quick hike down to the falls.

Day 11...Fourth of July: It was hot outside and we needed a rest day from yesterday's hot and sweaty hike, so we rested, relaxed and watched Independence Day on the TV.

On Christmas morning Remy and I spent the morning driving past a small beachy town called Hanalei and went to 'the end of the road'. ... and wind and weather! The sails went up for half an hour allowing us to take pictures and just relax. Then we headed back down the coast to our snorkel spot. Yes I went snorkelling...no coral to speak of but quite a few fish...mostly black and blue and spotted brown...but was lovely to cool off! We arrived at the Hanalei Bay Resort, checked in and took the hike up the three stories of stairs to find our rooms for the next week. The rooms were attached by a lock door and each side had a balcony overlooking the pool, Hanalei Bay and the three most prominent mountain peaks of Hihimanu, Namolokama, and Mamalahoa and their waterfalls. We had arrived and it really was paradise!!!
