We made our way through magnificent tall trees, picking our way cautiously through slightly muddy terrain. ... to a lovely waterfall and saw the huge canyon as we descended and then climbed out. It took us about 2 and a half hours. We then drove to the very top lookout - Kokee - and magically the cloud lifted and we could see all the way to the Na Pali Coast where we had been the day before and could see the place where we had looked up from our boat. ... that turned off and became a volcano out of which Pele, the god of fire, appeared. Pele told of the golden people of Hawaii. There was also a Samoan Fire dancer. The Maori women did poi dancing in which they swung tethered weights rhythmically, and with weights that were on fire. It was all over too soon.
