... She no longer competes but just loves having her dogs around. She said sled dogs can be any breed but hers are a Husky mix. Oh, about her cat "Danger". She and the dogs cohabitate very well and if she wants in the house and Libby is busy, she gets on tops of the dog kennels and bugs the dogs until they bark and drive Libby nuts. Typical cat! LOL

Well, tomorrow it's Skagway so chat with you later.
Juneau, Alaska, United States catty... for the day. I had no real choice as there is only one ferry from Whittier to Juneau a month and I wanted to be on it. Anyway, the train to Seward goes through some beautiful scenery. We passed a lot of dead trees, they were killed by the 1964 earthquake (9.2 on the richter scale) which caused the land to drop up to 4 metres, meaning the trees' roots were in salt water. Once in Seward I got on a boat for a 3 hour jaunt around Resurrection Bay. We saw ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States colin... boats leave, more come in. It is fun to watch different docking techniques, or lack of technique, especially on cruising boats like ours. Watching a boat wander around the harbor makes you wonder what their thought process is for picking a spot. There can be a nice roomy spot open and they will choose to go into a spot that is barely big enough for their boat. The big commercial fishing ...
Auke Bay, Alaska, United States mvpandora... t want one anyway. I smiles, pumped out my chest, and Deb took a couple pictures.

We rode the bus back to the airport and flew to Gustavus. The proprietor of the Annie Mae Lodge picked us up and delivered us to the guesthouse. Linda met us at 6 for dinner. She and Deb had some beef dish, but I went for the crab and lots of butter. In order to get my blood pumping again, we walked to the beach after eating. It was a great way to end a very long day.
Juneau, Alaska, United States wnrdog... an older bus and started off. The driver introduced himself and then the microphone broke. He stopped tried to fix it and then started driving again - not saying a word since the microphone broke. He took us to a view point where we stopped for 10 minutes and he again tried to fix the microphone. We took off on what I thought was the tour. The driver yelled a bit of history for a minute then silence. OK maybe not much to say but I ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States sheenavan... proceeded with 8 other passengers and 2 guides up into the heart of the glacier. The flight was really smooth, thankfully! It didn't even rain on us...the rain didn't start until after we left the glacier. I thought that we would walk over a rolling but fairly easy terrain on the glacier....I was much mistaken! Up close, glaciers have crevasses and pieces of ice that look like ocean waves ready to break. We had to walk ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States georgelung... outside- Sunny and a balmy 55 degrees. =] The first thing I did when I got back to Amy's was take a shower and Brian ordered pizza from Bullwinkles Parlor. Yummy ! And thats how we spent our 2 days at the cabin. Today is our last day and we have to get Brian some Salmon today. He must have salmon of some sort when we're in Alaska and he has yet to have it. We should be home late tomorrow. Thanks for reading our first travel blog- hope you enjoyed it.
Juneau, Alaska, United States hill498... Bay Glacier Bay National Park includes 16 tidewater glaciers, 12 that actively calve icebergs into the bay. The park encompasses snow-capped mountains, deep fjords, tidewater glaciers and freshwater streams. The pictures simply don't do the region justice, but I hope you enjoy them! cy
Juneau, Alaska, United States ctssyount... empty bottle to: Alaskan Brewing Co. 5429 Shaune Dr. Juneau, Alaska 99801 USA Besides going and discovering, we also get up really late. Many things have changed around here. The hotel was sold about 10 days ago. The new owner came in, just observed, never said a word and started to change everything. He didn't want to run any risks in me working without a permit so my last day in the restaurant was a week ago. Jason continued to work for ...
Juneau, Alaska, United States lenitasworldI was excited to arrive in the first city port, Juneau. The weater was great! it was sunny and pretty warmed. I only wore a short sleeve and still felt warmed. When we arrived, there were 2 other ships that arrived pretty much at the same time. Holland America ship was docking exactly next to Juneau downtown. Lucky for Holland America guests because they can go off the ship and walk directly to downtown area. Our ...
