Today we docked at 8am in Juneau, Alaska's capital city. After a visit to the ship's gym followed by breakfast we left the ship and travelled by coach to the Mendenhall Glacier just 10km from the town centre. What an amazing sight ! Along the way to and from the glacier we saw at least 25 American Bald Eagle's, some of ...

Day 4 - Thursday - Red Bluff Bay Geoff joined me for his first EVER yoga class on the deck with Amy & did so well - almost enjoyed it !! and in the afternoon he took to the ocean on a standup paddleboard. He & Mark made their way about on the cold, slightly rocky water then left Mark to his own quiet solitude while we went on a kayak tour of the area with Elli. Found paddling a kayak much easier than dragon boat paddling ...

... forget this incredible experience! On the way back we saw more seals and several bald eagles.

Our excursions took most of the day so there wasn't any time left to explore Juneau but after the experiences we just had I'm not disappointed. We had some exciting conversation over dinner this evening as we shared the things we saw and compared photos from our day at Auke Bay and Mendenhall Glacier.

One last thing....while we were trolling along today ...

... fast as a dog can run.' Scientists today confirm that the glaciers at that time advanced more than 1000 feet per day!

Within minutes of leaving the dock we were enjoying wildlife. A pad of sea otters 30–40 of them were huddled like a giant cuddle puddle cozying together creating a huge flotilla of cuteness! 45 minutes later we stopped at South Marboro Island to view dozens of sea lions, puffins, and other birdlife. A little while later ...
