    My flight to New Zealand is in 4 days and I think I have everything ready to go. It is hard to say though because I have never planned for a trip quite like this.

    The main supplies I will be bringing are:

    On our way out of Stowe, we stopped at the Waterbury Cabot Cheese Creamery factory outlet. Maura and I helped ourselves to the myriad of cheese samples. Our taste test revealed Seriously Sharp as our #1 choice, even though we macked down alot of the premium cheeses: Farmhouse Reserve, Alpine Cheddar and Everything Bagel.
    The drive down to Western Mass was smooth sailing ...

    ... go through before being free of the locks. We were unsuspecting of what fun was awaiting us in this final lock. Naively unconcerned, we entered the lock and noticed there were no lines on the sides, but only the metal poles you have to tie your own lines around. We attempted following our normal protocol: Jameson used the boat hook to pull us closer to the pole to get a line around, but in the midst of doing so he extended the pole too ...
