... get up and shower and Bridget and I headed into the city to find a pharmacy. This we found extremely difficult because Antwerp had a bank holiday that day and there were only limited pharmacies open. We were also unable to translate the signs which directed us to the nearest open chemist so spent several hours wandering the city in search of some cold and flu tablets. Stopping off at a restaurant to try some Belgian waffles, served with ice cream.

... by the memorial. We were also all presented with official Pilgrammage medals similar to those received by Canadian soldiers during the first memorial service ever held at the monument.

We ended our day by arriving in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, and having a lovely supper. We are looking forward to tomorrow and being able to see what Brussels has to offer.

Mon, another slow start with washing done before heading out on our own. Tram, bus, tram and lots of walking. Fine and sunny - the best weather yet in Europe. The sculpture park was closed till May 1 so back into the middle of the city, more walking, taking photos, choosing where and what to eat, then a slow wander back through a huge shopping street closed to cars.
