... Riddle is buried there. After the tour, we visited the National Museum of Scotland. This is a huge place and one could spend weeks in there. We took in the exhibits of geology, forest and animal evolution, then the Picts, the Celts, the Scots, the Angles, the Romans, and we quit at the Vikings. We then headed down towards Holyrood House and met up with Christina and Susi in front of the Scottish Parliament building. We hiked up to the top of Arthur's Seat, which is a ...

... photographed, and went on my way. I was in a weird location to catch a cab so I had to walk up the hill to Princes street and look for one there. By that time, I was already halfway to my destination, but the rest of the walk was straight up hill. The walkways were canopied in big gorgeous trees covered in lavender flowers that rained down on my happy face. The air smelled like sweet flowers and rain. ... see just how far it was to walk to the city from here. I'd done it before the last time I was here, but I don't remember it being quite so far that time! I've just measure it out on Google Maps and it turns out to be about 2km or so. At least it kept me warm!

The city centre hasn't changed that much, apart from all the tram tracks being complete, but I only had a quick look around before having to find somewhere for dinner - being on the train meant that ...

Fringe Festival-ing

Headed into the town late morning. I spent the time mostly walking around now that the festival has started. The Royal Mile has been transformed. Parts of it have been totally pedestrianised, people everywhere, people performing in the streets and handing out brochures for shows. The vibe was quite something. I was meeting Aunty Molly a little later on and found myself sick of walking around with an hour to spare, so I decided to go have a look at the Scottish ...
