Lima - Surprising city well worth a visit

We are sorry we didn't have longer here. This place is steeped in history. Over the last 10 years many of the historical buildings have been renovated. Fantastic architecture. Highly detailed wooden carvings are a feature in many of the building. There is a strong Moorish influence in the detail, carved wooden balconies, ceilings panelling etc. …

Cash, Souvenirs, and Soccer

We meet with the owner of the tour company to try and get the remaining cash. Western Union would not work on my ipad since they detect I am in Peru and so we try the banks. Finally we get the $ and I am relieved that it all was resolved. Next we have to buy lots of souvenirs since we had not shopped at all so it was a frenzy of buying alpaca hats …

After a 30 hours journey (instead of 19!) we finally made it to Lima, the place where it all begins...4 months of travelling, exploring and just being. Trying to catch up with some sleep, adjusting to an 8 hour time difference and taking in the beautiful and hot weather is enough to keep you busy for at least one day. But not long and we had our …

3B Barranco was comfortable, clean and modern. Although it was in the Barranco (obviously) neighborhood, away from Miraflores and the sights, it was a quick and cheap cab ride to the Plaza...

We had already been to Pisac with Isaac and preferred him, his stories, and …

Very stylish bed and breakfast. Great location. Elizabeth and staff are incredibly helpful. Most comfortable room we have had. Great breakfast made to order. We needed to see a doctor and within one hour of asking Elizabeth she had arranged one who came to the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place.
