I had to take Pete for a spin so I decided to visit Wincester, one of the oldest towns in England. Was setup as Englands capital at one stage and was pretty important place when England became a country, ie united under King Alfred around 7th century..

... school, and then going to tour round afterwards. Not 100% sure yet but will definately be doing Kerela and then North India.

Thanks to Brother Hasslehoff (Jennys brother) I have this funky blog thing so you all can sleep well at night knowing that my organs havent been sold on the black market for 100 rupees a piece.

Booked flight today - Guatemala on Feb 22nd 2010. So to mark the occasion I thought I'd start my travel diary today as well.

... here. In the late afternoon, I was picked up by my first host-mother, Nicole, and taken to my first host-sister's house to see her and her family. She has 2 beautiful young girls now, and it was so nice to meet them and have a lovely afternoon tea of tea and flan. My evening was rounded out nicely with my first Belgian 'friet' (fries) of this stay.

... The room is warm and welcoming, with rich colours and wood panels. Many of the tables are old school desks from Winchester College, a posh boys school nearby. The walls are covered in framed documents and historical bits and pieces, the ceiling lined with steins and walking canes. Our table has a small deposit slot in the top with a brass label reading "For the cathedral". We head home when the pub closed (11?! so hard to adjust to!), stopping for chips and cheese on the way.

... myself? The personal challenge, yes. The adventure of seeing a new part of the world, yes. But most importantly to help raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research. What you thought I was crazy enough to do this with out a cause to back? So I'm all set for over 280 miles on a bike, in searing heat and ridiculous humidity, you bet. I can't fail. ... to make sense of Bronwen. Due to the size of Bronwen she is sinking into my front lawn! We have now got interior lights, a safe, jerry can racks, a water system, bedding, cooker, pioneer tools and loads and loads of other bits, but most importantly, new tyres!!! I managed to find these in bedfordshire and Bronwen is now sporting a new set of boots and 2 spares on rims! We now have insurance sorted and ...
