A lazy morning start we headed off to the coast still a bit chilly today hoping it will reach 20 by midday.

We drove to the beach at Lompoc only or find out it was closed due to bird nesting season .... it was next to US. Air base fields, all the other beaches are closed because of that air base. So we headed north, to Pismo beach a very long way.

... I just had to remind him at intersections to stay on the right far side, natural instinct to drift across to the left. We were guided out and onto Pacific Highway One to Malibu …. so glad to be rid of that place (we are definitely not city goers) once we settled down we pulled into a Jack n Box on the seaside and had some brunch …. more burgers and chips, then onto who knows where, seeing lots of old convertibles (El Camino) and new Mustangs, Dodge ...

... to go visit the mission because we hadn't seen one in a while. Mission Santa Ines was not my favorite mission but it was absolutely gorgeous. While in elementary school, I was paddled due to my inability to complete my mission report. I hold a grudge! There seemed to be something going on but we managed to look around & explore discreetly. The view is worth the trouble to get there.

    Next, we travelled over ...
