... Christian and I remembered that this was the bull’s eye for Hurricane Katrina and also the home of the family of ABC’s Robin Roberts. She had all the viewers of Good Morning America praying for her aging mother after the hurricane hit. I remember it well. And in Pass Christian there were a few parking spaces in occasional areas, and there was a public beach with a limited sized parking lot and a pier.

Tallahassee is not just the capitol of Florida, more importantly it is the home of Marcus's alma mater, Florida State University (FSU). Go Seminoles! While this may not seem important to some, it is important to me because if you know Marcus, you know he tells wonderful stories…and some of my favorites are from the Sigma Nu fraternity house at FSU. Not a whole lot to share for today. We both went to work for most of the day and got on the road about 5 PM for a 4 hour drive to Thomasville, GA, where we spent the night with some friends. We had not seen the NeSmith's in a couple years so it was great to spend some time with them even though it was short. It's incredible how fast kids can start playing with other kids they've never met and act like they've known each other for years in no time at all.

We did not stop in either of these towns but kept motoring along. Our plan was to take the next available road to the I-10 to finish our journey to Tallahassee. The road was under construction for most of the way. It was apparent that they were making the existing 2-lane road into ...

... nice gazebo with a picnic table to enjoy! We discovered why the park was given its name. They had magnificent 300 year old oak trees for which I have taken a pic for you. Moss covered the limbs and draped the tree limbs in all their glory. Took a pic for your viewing enjoyment. Gail and I had the pleasure of doing our laundry in our rigs as we both have them in our rv's (charmed life) and of course partook in a happy hour drink. We had a wonderful homemade ...
