... over to see the East Slough. Again, as you can tell from the pics, it is unbelievably beautiful, as you see the tall pines, salt marshes, small ponds and sloughs. ... without her pack, but she perked back up quickly and we headed off to the beach. This was Rue's second walk on the beach, and she did great- she stuck close when off leash, didn't really have anything to do with the water, retrieved a few tennis balls, and just seemed to chill out. Our last day on the island was definitely the warmest day but unfortunately it was still windy and instead of sun we had blowing drizzle mixed with full on rain. ... swimming in the waves. We also did some surf fishing which we had never done before. Some of the more serious fishermen had white tubes they stuck into the sand to put their fishing rod in so they could sit in their chairs and just completely relax on the beach. ... we drove back down the cape to another beach near the lighthouse for the sunset. This sunset didn't disappoint. After lots of pictures, a brief recital of "God's Grandeur," some dolphins in the sunset (unfortunately no pics), and a moonlit walk back to the van, we finished off our day with ice cream. I write this as mom is watching "Smash" (dumb dramatic show) More pictures to come ...
