[I had a nice blog here, but some inexplicable quirk of this iPad destroyed it. So if you're interested Google Letchworth State Park. That donor fellow was quite interesting. Ditto, Mary Jamison and the Finger Lakes. For you racing fans, Watkins Glen was noted for hosting races with notables such as Stirling Moss and Mario ...
... in we make it to where the stream becomes a small underground lake. We are loaded into a boat for a short ride deeper into the cave. At the end you turn around, ride back to the dock and retrace your steps out with a couple of extra stops. Back at the top we got Karen a ticket to ride on the Zipline at the High Adventure Park. I was apprehensive as it was starting to sprinkle a bit and you could hear thunder in the distance. She was outfitted ...
Spent some time saying goodbye to old friends & new. Had a super healthy breakfast. Emily blended a concoction of fruits & veggies in her Magic Bullet blender. Looked like a baby diaper, but tasted SOOOO GOOD. (Thankfully) Luke had one last chase & play with Pauly. Overall was a good weekend. Uncle Buzzard & Kathy are good people, great hosts. Rochester....here we ...
Another day of driving... long day for David even though we took Toll Roads, there was road work so long delays. But alas we arrive in Gorton.. being a long weekend here this weekend ( Labour Day) it was hard to find accommodation at a reasonable price so we decided to book into this hotel for the next 4 nights..... Unfortunately ...
Set off this morning back across to America .... But not without a stop off at the Duty Free shop, managed to pick up a large bottle of Clnique Moisturizer ( tax free plus I had a $5 coupon) bargain. Happily (me that is) we set off on our merry way back to the States. ( no drama at the border crossing) Letchworth State Park is New York state's answer ...

Historical Traveler Reviews 10 Fitch ~ Luxurious Romantic Inn Auburn
5 Star Stay at 10 Fitch
Our stay at 10 Fitch was exceptional from start to finish. We were greeted by Jay with a warm welcome followed by a tour and history of the restored inn. The grounds are beautiful. Guests can sit on one of the quaint patios and enjoy the garden view. Every room is immaculately kept and decorated with exquisite detail. The breakfast each morning was delicious! Katie and Jay went above and beyond our expectations as hosts. Cozy fires, wine, day-trip assistance and a 4:00 a.m. breakfast buffet set out for us (for our early start that day) were just a few of the thoughtful extras provided.
Thanks Jay and Katie! We can't wait to come back.
The most Amazing weekend at 10Fitch
We have just returned from an absolutely perfect weekend at 10 Fitch. The decor is gorgeous, the rooms are immaculate and cozy, and Katie and Jay had a way of making us feel like we were the only people in the house. My fiance chose 10 Fitch as the setting for his proposal, and I could not have asked for more. Katie and Jay went above and beyond to help Tim plan a picture perfect weekend by recommending restaurants, booking activities for us to do while in Auburn, and even setting the stage for the proposal by placing flowers, champagne and strawberries in our room for our return. Amazing! Words cannot express our gratitude! We were blessed to share such a special moment in our life together there. I HIGHLY recommend 10 Fitch and cannot wait to return myself!
My husband and I stayed at 10 Fitch for our 1st Anniversary. We were very impressed with how clean the rooms were and cannot say enough about the decor. Truly first class. Katie, the Innkeeper, was extremely helpful in providing directions to the wineries and offered an amazing place for dinner - Mirbeau. The only drawback is the distance to the wineries. It took us about 25-30 minutes, which overall isn't too bad, but we had to watch how much tasting we did since we were driving. My recommendation would be to rent a limo so you can enjoy yourself.

High standard Guest House
Along with my wife and daughter, I very much enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts at 10 Fitch. It is a superb house and we felt spoiled by the personal attention. Strongly recommend.
We recently spent 2 glorious nights at this superb B&B in Auburn, New York. It is simply the most elegant, well managed B&B we have ever experienced. Gorgeous rooms, so spacious; the fixtures, appointments, decor, and all the details throughout this restored home are exquisite. Delicious cooked to order breakfasts and the most charming, friendly hosts. As you can tell, we enjoyed every moment and 10 Fitch is so close to all the Finger Lakes - the perfect place to stay in this region. Centrally located to the many outstanding wineries. Our hosts assisted us in planning our wine tasting and touring and made all restaurant reservations for us at equally superb restaurants in the area. A definite 'must'....a perfect 10!
High-Class, Luxurious B&B
We stayed at 10 Fitch to go see the Finger Lakes winery region of NY state. My wife and I absolutely loved it. The pictures on their website do not lie!!! There proximity to the wineries and other sites is perfect. Auburn is a small city that is surrounded by beautiful scenic countryside. 10 Fitch is in the Historic District and surrounded by many big old mansions. We visited the Seward House down the street which was very interesting. We ate at Mirbeau on Katie's recommendation and had an amazing dinner. Breakfast was excellent as well, she made us Gran Marnier French Toast with loads of fresh strawberries on it. Highly recommend this spot as a romantic and luxurious getaway!
Most elegant place we have ever stayed!!!
10 Fitch is Fabulous!!!! From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt as though we were royalty. We checked in and got a tour of the Inn and were served some lovely hors douerves and wine. We stayed in the English Suite which has a bathroom that is simply amazing! Breakfast was excellent and Jay's entertaining humor kept us giggling. Location was great...convenient to wineries and Historic sites in Auburn. Took a walk to the Seward House only a few blocks away. Highly recommend...Worth every cent. Look forward to another visit soon.
I was looking for a weekend getaway for Valentine's Day this past February, for my wife and I. In the past I haven't had the best of luck finding a Bed and Breakfast that provided the things my wife and I want in a romantic retreat. Well fortunetaly I stumbled across 10 Fitch! From the moment we walked in the door we both knew this was going to be a special stay! We were greeted by Katie and Jay who instantly made us feel special and at home.
