... graded to a 4 star and therefore just bread and cheese ! Quick call to the supermarket to pick up some bottles of prosecco (no free wine and cheese at this hotel) and then ventured out into the academia (and beyond ) district and eventually settled into a cicchetteria for quite a long lunch (actually quite a few glasses of prosecco !) Walking back to the hotel we spied a good looking restaurant ...

We eventually make our way back to the hotel and chill out for a bit and raid the mini bar before dinner. We then frock up and back down to Hotel Savoia Jolanda for food, festivities and fire ...

... taxis and water buses. We jumped on a water bus and made our way to a stop that promised St Mark's Square was just around the corner. It was around a corner, just not the first of second or third that we headed for! We kept following signs past shops full of beautiful coloured glass animals and people and jewellery and anything the glass-blowers could think of making.
