... walked around free at night looking at all the amazing shops for a couple of hours. Very expensive. The best of everything here. The shoes are my favourite ever. On the way back to our taxi boat pick up point in the square, which was lit up like Christmas, we passed some classical musicians.   Getting caught up in it all, Blanca and I waltzed in the square to the classical quartet playing whiter shade of pale. ... out a room in someone's home like a hotel, but significantly cheaper.

We arrived to this home and were shown our room with a cute little balcony attached. Our host had us sit outside on the balcony, offered us a glass of wine, some local snacks and then taught us how to get into the city of Venice. It was wonderful to finally not have to figure it all out ourselves.

So the next day we headed out on a mission to see our must-see destination ...

... aware of the guys who want to help you with your suitcase and then want payment. They are very clever at picking out the tourists. So both Gary and I said an emphatic 'NO' and he moved on.

Our train trip to Venice went well, it is a fast train and took approximately 2 hours. When we came into Venice it was starting to get dark. Finding our hotel in the dark is going to be interesting. We needed to get a water taxi first which we were able to find but the trip was about half ...
