Muggy Day in Florence
... way in Florence with the number of tourists. One of the cool things though was stopping by the renowned gelateria Vivoli and we popped in to get gelato. Awesome as I didn't have to walk back again later. Had the strawberry and it was simply amazing. So Good!!!

Two women, two weeks, three countries
... reunion. Yes, tears were shed and as could be expected, we made somewhat of a scene with our mass of luggage, smiles, tears, and love. Falling in Love with Italy
... can't show it. It was a lot bigger than what I had expected. Suprisingly, the museum wasn't that crowded. I was expecting it to be like the Louvre in Paris was, but it wasn't and I'm glad. Maybe it was because it was early and in the off-season. After we saw the David we walked around looking at other paintings, sculptures, and statues (the originals) from the Renaissance era. Big Hands Big Feet?
Went to the place. The place with the David. The benches were behind him. Oh dear.
It's quite impressive, really. The hands and feet are strangely gigantic.
Side exhibit of Lorenzo Bartolini, lover of 'natural beauty' apparently. He's ninteenth century, young nude ladies and rows upon rows of busts. He did a sculpture version of Titian's Venus of Urbino. sheesh.
And then so. many. triptychs. Thought I was going to lose my mind.

Ahhh Firenze!
... rooms (by European standards). Service was outstanding.
Our favorite day of this trip was the excursion to Cinque Terre! We would recommend everyone try aand take this excursion while visiting Florence. The scenery is sooo beautiful that we have made our photos into canvas prints that now hang on the walls in our home!
Also, other good side trips:Siena and San Gimignano! Both beautiful and unique!
