I'm not sure how I found out about this place, even the Tuk Tuk Drivers hadn't heard about it. After about 10 minutes of confusion and broken communication one of the tuk tuk drivers luckily found a brochure for it in his tuk tuk and then we were off. It looks like they tried to make a tourist spot out of this place and it just didn't take. We went to the "information center" and it was just an abandoned building.
We kept seeing the horse carriages we had heard about, but couldn't find where to hire them. We had the best tuk tuk driver because he managed to find the starting point which looked a like make-shift starting point. Our tuk tuk driver talked to a lady sitting there and found out where the ruins were and he took us on our own tour. It was fun to go through the neighbors (the houses went from shacks to mansions) - it was a great experience to just explore this little suburb of Chiang Mai.
