Western MacDonnell Ranges Red Centre

We're going on a day trip to the West MacDonnell National Park today where we planning on going to as many features as we can - mainly gorges. It doesn’t look like it from the ground, but Alice Springs is surrounded by a whole lot of spectacular ranges and hills.

Today we drove out to the West MacDonnell Ranges. We drove to the furthest Gorge first and then worked our way back towards Alice. The first gorge is Redbank Gorge which had a very long, hot walk to get to a tiny pool of algae filled water. Then we went to Glen Helen Gorge.

Today we drove back out to the West MacDonnell Ranges to finish off the gorges. We stopped first at Simpsons Gap. This was a lovely shady walk and really pretty. We spotted some Rock Wallabies high up on the cliff walls.
