I've visited several zoos during my lifetime. The Wellington Zoo has been the best one to date. It is the perfect combination of size, variety of animals, viewing opportunities, and interactions. It is not a large zoo in terms of land coverage, so a person can visit each inhabitant in half of a day without feeling rushed. While there might be many people visiting at the same time, for some reason, I never felt crowded. The variety of animals from different geographical locations were plentiful. The staff was always helpful and even allowed visitors to assist in feeding when deemed safe for the visitors and animals. I took my wife and children the first day and spent four hours in the afternoon wandering through the grounds. My wife and I loved it so much, we woke up early the next day to return in hopes of viewing the animals' morning routines. For less than $50.00 NZ, you can enjoy priceless moments as a result of the great animals living in the Wellington Zoo. Of all the things I have done while in Wellington, visiting the zoo was the best. With regard to zoos, I usually enter believing I will see the same things I have seen at all the zoos prior to this one - the Wellington Zoo has changed that outlook.
