I have an innate ability to find any high street in any city I visit and Vaci Utca is one of the more pleasing finds not for the lest because at the end, in the town square, stood one of the most intriguing Christmas markets I have ever seen. My first in fact. Which might be why I was so entranced. It is not a large market but it is a high calibre market with magnificent food and great atmosphere. My recommendations are the foot-long+ nag rain sausages in baguettes with mustard and pickles and the flatbread type delight cooked on a grill before your eyes (from dough!) and filled with ham, cheese, sour cream and cucumber pickles...AMAZING!!!!! I kept coming back for more! The goulash served in hollowed out cobs of bread is also a must-have! Could have eaten here everyday for a week quite happily. Well visit Budapest again at Christmas time just to eat at this market.
