We asked at the hotel for a good restaurant, not too far as the kids were tired, that was cheap. He recommended Carlo Menta and he was spot on. Four stops away on the tram, it only took about 5-7 mins to get there. It is on a small piazza in Trastevere, just before the river. It's was very busy and apparently they don't take reservations. We waited only five minutes for a table (we could have had a table inside immediately) and were seated outside overlooking the piazza. The food was really lovely and amazingly cheap - pizzas around €3, pasta around €5, a litre of house wine for €8 or a bottle of montepulciano for €10. We had four cokes, a large bottle of fizzy water, three starters, four mains and a bottle of montepulciano and the bill came to €57! We were exhausted and gave up after our main courses. We wandered through the streets stopping at a few stalls and listening to an open air concert and then hopped back on the tram and fell asleep before we hit the pillow in our hotel. Villa and Galleria Borghese tomorrow
