Looking through the hikes at Zion National Park me family and I read about multiple excursions that not only had amazing pictures but also a hike that would be moderately easy for my parents go through. the narrows on the difficulty chart was put to easy- strenuous which i think is a pretty accurate description but i have to say it was more on the stenos side. My family and i went in April when the last of the mountain snow was trickling down into the river so the water was at a crazy 45 degrees! Thankfully we bought dry suits, a walking stick .and water socks and shoes at zion adventure which saved the trip for us (especially the walking stick, you need that any time of the year). when on the narrows the water was about waist deep and the current was at average speed. My Mother ended up going back at about the 3 1/2 - 4 hour mark but my dad and I pushed through till probably the 6 or 7. We did not make it to the end but we didn't care because the journey through it was all worth it. every corner of The Narrows was different and amazing and when we were going back through it it looked completely different because the lightning made it even more beautiful! If you go to Zion and you can spend a whole day somewhere i would definitely try The narrows, its beauty is quite worth the sore legs you'll be feeling the day after!
