The Helicopter Line West Coast Franz Josef

Our heli-hike up to Franz Joseph glacier was a fantastic and memorable experience which we would happily recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure although you probably need to have a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy it properly. We were kitted out in cold weather gear and crampons and then whisked high up onto the glacier by helicopter. We then took a 2 hour twalk exploring beautiful ice caves and fascinating natural ice sculptures along the way, All features were explained to us by our trusty guide, who also checked the path ahead to make sure we didn't fall down any holes! It was a fantastic trip and our safety was well looked after. A great afternoon!
