This is experience is worth the pretty penny you will pay!
You get to see a traditional Haka challenge by the Maori before you can enter the village. Once you enter the village, you get to wander around and discover the different aspects of their cultural identity and history. Each little exhibition has Maori's performing ethnic practices and traditional beliefs. There is singing, games, dancing, and more. You learn about the meaning and importance of their tattooing, making crafts, and training for battle.
After the village closes, everyone gathers around to watch them unearth the hangi, and finally you go to the meeting house and watch a traditional maori performance. After participating in all of these amazing, unique, and important cultural practices you head to the dining hall. Here you get to eat a buffet made from the hangi you unearthed and other traditional Kiwi food, including Pavlova for desert. Delicious!
