A must visit if you are ever in Rotorua!
You get a amazing insight into how the Maori people lived back in their day from how they played games, danced, worked, cooked, fought, built their houses, tattooing their face and the best part..How to do the Hakka!
They put on songs and dances throughout the evening and the true stories that they tell you keep you engaged all through the evening. They are extremely passionate about they're culture and keeping it alive, it was a privilege to learn about.
To finish off the evening they put on a buffet of food for everyone which for a traveller like ourselves was nearly the best part! Going up for 2nd's and 3rd's Ha ha. The food was cooked how they would cook it back in their day (underground from coal) and the food ranged from: fish, chicken, potatoes, carrots, stuffing to the puddings!
Aaron learnt the "Hakka" and got involved on their fitness tests and I joined in on some traditional hand eye co ordination tests (and won :-p) along with the female dancing.
From the moment you step on the bus that takes you there, to the moment you get dropped off even the driver was a fountain of knowledge who also played games as he drove.
