The contrast in colors of this church made it the most beautiful I've ever seen. I think it maybe my favorite church in all of Europe so far. The use of dark sculptures (blackish) and also gray against the lightness of the walls and ceiling. It was incredible. Also, there was no stained glass in the windows; probably as the result of bombings during WWII. The glass was textured but clear which contributed to the clean lines. The alter was also stunning as the podium was covered in a floral marble design as was the floor of the alter. I loved the use of trees and branches in this instance. Great symbolism. There are much older and more ornate churches that are jaw-dropping, but this is "my" kind of church design.
