    Smithwicks Brewery tours are a fantastic way to get up close and personal with the vats that turn barley into magic.

    The tour is very authentic, what with protective goggles and high viz jacket it feels like you're going in to do some experiments on the stuff.

    The brewery is moving oprations up to Dublin as Smithwicks is now owned by Diaggio, the same company that owns Guinness.

    Would highly recommend taking the tour whether it's operational or not as there is a lovely old abbey on the grounds and a free pint at the end!

    We tried both brews on tap and were very delighted by the Smithwicks lager option, which isn't as widely accessible around the globe.

    This short tour is A must simple because the brewery has been bought and will be closed. With some interesting artifacts of the trade and a taste of the product at the end, stop in before seeing the rest of the city center.

  • Great tour with factory visit

    This is the only tour that brings you to see the actual factory, compared to Guiness Warehouse and Heiniken Experience, though lacks all the high tech stuff. You'll get a perfect pint with collapsible top at the end of the tour.

    We arrived Holyhead (UK) around 1am, went through a simple immigration check and board the ferry. The ferry is like Star Cruise, there`re café, slot machines, theater etc. Arrived Dublin around 6am, took the same bus to Busaras Station (the bus will board the ferry along with the passengers).

    Waited 2 hours to catch the bus to Kilkenny …
