I love the old section of Salzburg with all my heart. My daughter and I had eggs in Café Tomaselli, sitting in the same booth my mother sat in as a young woman in the 1940's. I visit scenes from my childhood that look exactly as I remember from the 1960's and most of all the beauty is evident in every direction you look. Music can be heard echoing from the churches and alleyways; Mozart, Bach and Beethoven, sweet refrains on flute and violin. Flowers abound in ornate window boxes and busy street markets and the delectable aromas of tasty foods waft through the air, tempting you to partake. Salzburg is as close to heaven as can be possible on earth.
