Built in the 9th century on top of a hill, Prague Castle is well worth the time for any visitor to Prague.
There are different ways to get there, as the castle area has 2 different entrances. The better one to start from, is the one by Castle Square, although it may be a little more difficult to get to. The other one would make a better exit, on the other side, which gives nice views of Prague, and closer to a Metro station.
Once inside the premises, you have a choice of attractions to pick from. But you have to buy a ticket, with your choice of Long Visit or Short Visit. Pick Short Visit, since it is not likely you will be able or want to see everything that the castle has to offer.
Definitely check out the following attractions: St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, and Basilica of St. George. All worth it, especially the stained glass windows in St. Vitus Cathedral. I hear Golden Lane is worth seeing as well, but it was closed off when I was there.
