I didn't do the mini-trekking, in order to get longer viewing the glacier. Also, I had only recently been on Franz Josef Glacier, New Zealand. I wanted a different experience. The big draw for me here was the prospect of seeing big chunks of ice falling off. I wasn't disappointed. The sound of ice crashing into the lake is as impressive as seeing it, and the many spectacular views.
