Whilst the experience of watching these Little Penguins take the dangerous steps from the water up the beach towards their waiting families home in their burrows was a beautiful and very cute activity, the evening was spoilt by the large bustling crowds of people who had no tourist etiquette. We saw adults pushing younger children out of the way to very these little creatures and people standing up infront of others in the grandstands on the beach. In the end we quickly saw some of the little penguins make their march up the beach and headed back up the hill through the gift store and out to the car to continue the fight with crowds on the roads departing the Penguin Parade. I feel that those organising the parade should be less focused on getting huge money intake for the night and allow for a more satisfying and safer experience for those visiting and the penguins. I can't even imagine how terrifying it might have been for the little penguins to come out from the quiet and calmness of the ocean waters to the noise of the crowds there to ogle them. Alas, it is something that my family and I have never seen before and thoughally enjoyed even with the hostile conditions associated with being a tourist!
