Penang Hill isn't just for those tourists who want to see all the possible places and snap photos to show that they've been there.
This is an experience on itself; first there is the vernacular ride, which is a tad expensive for my taste, but with a student discount it was manageable. The ride takes roughly 10 minutes from the bottom station to the top station.
Immediately upon arrival, it is clear that the view is the main reason to come here. There are several viewing platforms giving you the views of Pulau Pinang, take advantage of them!
Kiosks here are slightly more expensive than at the bottom of the hill, so get your water before heading up. Food at the food court was the same price as in George Town, and quite good as well.
For those with good legs, there are plenty of walking trails heading down from the hill and the possibility to take the vernacular back from any of the small stations between the main stations.
