Ottawa is a truly beautiful national capitol. Leaving NH we headed west to visit good friend and former colleague Nathalie Gagnon. We first met her through Deb's work on the Saint Croix Island IHS project where Nat was Parks Canada liason. Ottawa is a very accessible capitol with classic architecture overlaid on the natural beauty of the Rideau and Ottawa Rivers with Gatineau Parc on its edge. We spent hours in the Canadain History Museum on our last trip . It was hard not to linger for all the museums we missed as well as to revisit our favorites from 2010. But we have a long way to go...so after a super fish and chips meal near her house with Nat and Paul, we took a walk to a secret neighborhood swimming pond and natural area, then camped in Nat's driveway. The Ottawa Bluegrass Festival was in full op, so we nodded off with distant music in our ears.
