Paradise Cove Luau was a great experience. Much more than I was expecting, even as a lone traveller. After the initial greeting with a fruit punch and a shell (for the guys) of a flower lei (for the ladies), there was pre-show entertainment and activities all around Paradise Cove, including canoeing, spear throwing hula, a market place and store for gift purchases, heaps of photo opportunities, traditional ceremonies and then a huge feast. Entry included a voucher on a souvenir plastic card, which you could use at the bar or in the shop. The food was really good and the main show and performances were excellent. Then there was the bus trip back to Waikiki! That experience alone was well worth it. I was allocated a return bus and had not met anyone onboard, as I did the snorkel trip earlier in the day. However I was greeted at the bus by a very warm and friendly host, who made me feel very welcome, and who provided a very entertaining ride back to our drop off points. Fun and funny :-)
