We took the rack railway and went 5km distance up the mountain, enjoying the breathtaking views and scenery. We visited the famous monastery situated at a height of 725 meters. Inside the church, we were able to see the patroness of Catalonia, "La Moreneta". I then visited the museum and saw the works of art by Picasso, Greco, and other Catalan artists. I headed straight after to the souvenir shop where i was able to get a taste of the typical liquors of Montserrat. I highly recommend to get some with you back home as you can hardly find them anywhere else. They have several flavors; Crema Catalana (creme brulee), Avellana, Aromes, Ratafia. I then headed to Espai Audio Visual Museum where i learned more of the place. I spent the rest of my day walking around the cheese market and enjoying the pink rocky formations that were absolutely magical. This place is highly recommended, and was only 1 hour away from our Hotel Vilamari. If you're in Barcelona, make sure to visit this place!
