Undoubtedly my favourite part of Paris, the Latin Quarter is a must-see for every visitor to the city of lights. A stone's throw from Ile de France (Notre Dame), this bustling and vibrant area of my favourite city is perfect for a low-key (yet delicious - it is the capital of France after all) meal with the family, cocktails with friends, or a simple wander at any time of the day.
On this occasion, our visit to the Latin Quarter and the lovely evening we spent there was a perfect way for my travel buddy and I to start off our trip in style. It rounded off a day of intense sight-seeing, and a trip to the Musee du Louvre. For two twenty year old students on a budget, it was a real treat to be able to enjoy a three course Parisian meal for less that 15 euros each. We dined in a wonderful little restaurant in the heart of the Latin Quarter, on three courses each, and a complementary cocktail. Whilst one day I would love to be able to see some of the really famous, Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris, I absolutely adore the charm of Quartier Latin; each restaurant and bar feels like a living scrapbook, filled with trinkets and fairy lights.
