Laoshan National Park is a large park full of hiking trails to the various peaks of the park. It is located 30 km northeast of Qingdao downtown but is not easy to gain entrance. Local buses run on limited schedules, but a local driver, cab or tour bus might be more efficient. A main entrance ticket and internal shuttle bus will drop you off at various sites, but unless you read Chinese there is little information on each of the sites. Sometimes it is easiest to just follow others. The park has limited bathroom facilities, but there are local food vendors. Pack your own water and snacks to be safe. Plan for a full 8 hour day of hiking at anyone of the main peaks, each will provide a sufficient enjoyment by itself and all provide views of the sea. It is well worth any effort to get there.
