For our last night in Hongkong, we decided to buy most of souvenirs in Ladies Market. We have heard from friends, as well as reviews online, that if one wants to get the cheapest souvenirs, they can be found there. However, there are also bad reviews that we have found true. One example is when you ask the vendors how much they sell something, perhaps a set of keychain for example, they will give you the price but when you hesitate, they will ask you back how much you want to pay. Go for the lowest price you can offer. For me, they offered me HKD175 for 1 set of Disneyland inspired key chains. Because a friend of mine will be buying 2 more sets, I decided to make her an offer. I told her that I'll pay her HKD150 for 3 sets. At first, she said no, so I thanked her and told her that I'll just look at the other stores. So I called my friends and ignored her while she continues to insist on her price. Suddenly, she grabbed me in the arm, which frightened me. She said "Friend, okay okay, I give 3 for HKD150". I agreed since I was already tired but when we came back to her store, she asked for HKD160 instead. Once again, I just said okay just to end the drama. Imagine from HKD175 for a set, it became HKD160 for 3 sets! If you will be deciding to go there to shop, be careful and be smart because these vendors are desperate to get customers. Use the situation to your advantage.
