For plant nerds you have to see the Rafflesia kerrii. We found it too expensive to go see the lake, but pictures look nice. The hiking trails in the park are good but the overlook was closed and some of the waterfalls are not that great. There are pleanty of lovely places to stay outside the park and it is nice and quiet with few tourists.

Granted, we came to Khao Sok during the rainy season, but we expected the only two trails they allow you to do on your own to be decent.
They did not warn us about anything nor give any tips, just held out a hand for 200 Baht per person and pointed which direction to go. It should have taken us about an hour and a half to get to the waterfalls and another hour and a half to get back. The trail was all mud, which wouldn't have been that bad but after 10 minutes of hiking we realized what the mud was crawling with.
Leeches. We were covered in them. We scrambled to get them off and booked it back to the gate where we payed, sure that since we were only in the park for 20 minutes and had payed for a full 24 hours we would get our money back. Nope. We had signed in, so when we came was no question. I explained to them that we hiked for 10 minutes, got covered in blood sucking parasites and ran back and we want our money back. Nope. No refunds, they just kept repeating no refunds and we gave up and walked away with leeches still crawling in our shoes.
In my opinion, huge disappointment and waste of money in the rainy season.This review is the subjective opinion of a TravelPod member and not of TravelPod.com.
