Humble Administrator's Garden only refers to the name itself, not to its real contents. The garden is not humble at all, actually it is so grand and splendid and luxurious and it appears not like a Suzhou garden, but a royal retreat in some historical Chinese capitals in northern China such as Beijing. The details in this garden still contains a lot of key elements of Suzhou garden, such as small and zigzaging lanes, small bridges across the wandering streams. However, the garden is big and open, which make these elements look not private.
Tourists are always abundant. I like smaller gardens like Ouyuan or Canglang which are quieter and feel more private. Admission to that was 30 kuai per person.
