The best way to describe the Heineken Experience is as the Will Wonka of beer factory tours. It is a completely interactive, mostly self-guided tour through the Heineken Factory. The tall, brick building with the large Heineken logo on top which it is located in is fairly easy to find. Along with your ticket, you are given a green silicon bracelet with the Heineken logo, and two tabs that you can later redeem for 2 free beers (Heineken, of course). After paying for admission, you walk through several rooms and hallways lined with the original to older to newer bottles, logos and labels that you have seen from Heineken throughout its production. You'll head through the brewery, and even see some of the unexpected- the Heineken horses, for one. There is an interactive booth where you learn what it feels like to actually be made into beer. There are some other brief demonstrations, and if you've been paying attention to some of the facts along the way, a chance to score a couple free beers. Eventually, you make it down to the bar, where you're able to redeem your tabs for two beers. Last chance to get some good take homes: You'll pass my the bottling assembly line. Type in your name and get a bottle of Heieken labelled: Bottled By "Andrew Lamar" or whatever your name happens to be. There is a massive souvenir shop with Heineken everything you can imagine. I chose a Heineken beer glass to add to the collection, with my name inscribed on it so you'll know who it belongs to!
