We took the gondola from Heavenly Village up the hill and then hiked up hill a little further for some spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas. Don't miss out on the first stop on the way up, because the lift doesn't stop there on the way back down. There's a deck with an amazing view on a clear day, great for group posing. At the top of the lift is the area where during winter you would choose your ski slope and grab another lift, but during summer most of that is closed off. However, if you are up for a moderately steep hike, keep heading up further-- the view just keeps getting better! Overall, the gondola to get there was pretty pricey ($34), but the views were amazing.
