I arrived back in Istanbul from Dubai at 2pm. Once I checked in at my new hotel, I left for shopping at the Grand Bazaar. The Grand Bazaar was extremely overwhelming, similar to Dubai's gold souk. Present were countless shoppers looking for bargains on souvenirs. The bazaar offered many beautiful items at low prices. The thing is you name your price. I approached 2 different vendors about the exact same item. One offered to sell it for $30 and the other at half the price. Another vendor quoted me $65 for an item and I talked him down to $20. Don't be afraid to negotiate.
I walked around in the cold and wet elements for about 4 hours before retiring to me hotel. On the way there, I stopped at a little local restaurant for a Turkish chicken wrap. It was delicious and best of all only $3! Afterwards, I stopped at Sultanahmet for magribh and isha which was halfway to my hotel from the Grand Bazaar.
